Network Administrator

The Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing an organization’s network infrastructure. This professional works to ensure that the company’s network is operating efficiently, securely, and reliably.


  1. Network Design: Design and plan the organization’s network architecture, including topologies, communication protocols, and security systems.
  2. Implementation and Configuration: Implement and configure network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and DHCP and DNS servers.
  3. Network Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as firmware updates, security patches, and network performance optimization.
  4. Monitoring and Diagnostics: Monitor network performance and diagnose and resolve connectivity, bandwidth, and latency issues.
  5. Network Security: Implement network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to protect the network against external and internal threats.
  6. User and Access Management: Manage user accounts, access permissions, and network security policies to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  7. Backup and Recovery: Configure and maintain data backup and recovery systems to protect the integrity of information in case of hardware failures or disasters.
  8. Documentation: Document network configuration, maintenance procedures, security policies, and other relevant aspects of the network infrastructure.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in network and systems administration.
  • Deep knowledge of network protocols, routing and switching technologies, and network monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Juniper JunOS, or similar.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, etc.) would be an advantage.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
